Performance Physical Therapist (DPT) – Runners & Lifelong Athletes
Woodcliff Lake, NJ · Full-time · Hybrid Rehab–Fitness Model

If you became a PT to actually change athletes’ lives (not grind through post-op mills and 3–4 patients an hour), keep reading.
If you’re looking to rack up “reps” on routine post-op in a high-volume clinic, this is not your place.

Who We Are

Next Level Physio exists to help driven athletes keep playing the sports they love, for life.
We specialize in runners and lifelong athletes over 30 who refuse to “age out” of their sport.

How we do it: we find what is holding them back, build a custom plan, and guide them through it so they can do more than they thought they could.

We’re a hybrid rehab–fitness practice with two North Jersey locations: Woodcliff Lake and Montclair. Low volume, high touch, performance-based.

What You’ll Actually Do

This is a true performance PT role, not mill work.

In-clinic, you will:

  • Run 60-minute, one-on-one evaluations and follow-ups (1 client per hour, no double-booking)
  • Design and progress integrated rehab + performance programs for runners and lifelong athletes
  • Track objective outcomes and adjust plans based on the data
  • Collaborate with a team that cares about “best result,” not “fastest churn”

Outside the room, you will:

  • Act as a brand ambassador in the local community – at the gym, run club, races, and community events
  • When you meet someone who clearly needs what we do, invite them in for an assessment
    • You’ll have a simple QR code booking link; you share it, they book, our admin team does the rest
  • Be responsible for booking 1–2 new assessments per week directly from your community relationships
  • Lead or support workshops, run groups, and content that position you as the “go-to” PT for runners and athletes

You’ll have:

  • A tiered, revenue-based productivity bonus that rewards you for the revenue you generate, not just visits on the books
  • Behavior bonuses tied to:
    • 5-star Google reviews mentioning you by name
    • Hosting workshops / community events
    • Generating referrals and booked assessments from your network

If you’re driven by clear goals and like being rewarded for both performance and behavior, you’ll like this setup.

How You’ll Fit Our Values

We expect you to live our core values:

  • Own the Outcome – You treat your caseload, outcomes, and relationships like your own micro-practice inside Next Level.
  • Data Driven – You like objective testing, progress measures, and using numbers to prove what’s working. You’re coachable.
  • One Team, No Ego – You share wins, accept feedback, and collaborate with PTs, performance coaches, and front desk.
  • Live Like an Athlete – You train, move, or compete yourself. You understand our patients because you are one of them.

Who This Is Perfect For

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Are a licensed DPT in New Jersey
  • Have 3+ years of outpatient experience (we are not hiring new grads for this role)
  • Are dry needling certified in NJ (or actively working toward it within a defined timeframe)
  • Have real interest and/or experience working with runners and lifelong athletes
  • Prefer one-on-one care, 60-minute visits, and time to think, coach, and program
  • Are comfortable being a visible part of the local fitness/runner community
  • Understand that ethical sales = helping people make the best decision for their long-term health
  • Are okay being on camera for educational content and social media
  • Can work the occasional Saturday morning for events / workshops

Compensation & Growth

  • Competitive base salary
  • Tiered, revenue-based productivity bonus for hitting and exceeding targets
  • Behavior bonuses for 5-star reviews, workshops, and referrals/assessments you generate
  • 15 days PTO
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k)
  • Continuing education budget / flexibility
  • Clear growth path in your area of interest (clinical specialties, leadership, business development, potential partnership track)

How to Apply

If this sounds like the way you actually want to practice:

  1. Send your resume.
  2. Include a short note on:
    • Your experience with runners / athletes
    • Why this low-volume, high-touch, community-facing model appeals to you
  3. Be ready, if selected, to:
    • Review our PT scorecard and revenue-based bonus tiers
    • Walk through a case study
    • Record a short video introducing yourself

If you want to be the PT that athletes think of first when something hurts or they hit a plateau – and you’re willing to own both your outcomes and your growth – we’d like to talk.*
